Speech & Language Pathologists

We are looking for permanent full-time Speech and Language Pathologists to conduct individual and group therapy sessions. Training on Centre protocol, quality control and regular staff supervision will be provided. There will be excellent opportunities for professional growth within the Centre. All therapy sessions will be conducted at the Centre.

Our Speech & Language Pathologists will be assessing and identifying individual needs of paediatric clients with respect to their speech, language and communication difficulties, and will be developing appropriate intervention plans/programmes for these clients. Consultation and training to parents, shadow aides/teachers and other caregivers will also be part of the job description. The Speech and Language Pathologist hired will be expected to work as part of a team under the constant guidance and supervision of the Centre's Director. Experience in organizing and conducting seminars/workshops in the field of speech and language therapy will be an added advantage.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited college or university is the minimum requirement. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Related work experience and relevant life experiences would be an added advantage.
  • Good command of the English language (both written and spoken).
  • Multi-lingual abilities (including local Malaysian dialects) will be highly advantageous (if you are Malaysian).
  • Enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn.
  • Fun-loving, creative, flexible, energetic and animated.
  • Passionate about working with special-needs children.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have or apply for and maintain MASH (Malaysian Association of Speech-Language & Hearing) membership.

Remedial Academic Support Teachers

We are looking for full-time qualified Remedial Academic Support Teachers who would be teaching and guiding children who have learning difficulties. You should be able to provide direct and indirect support using teaching strategies and guidance to evaluate and consequently plan the appropriate intervention specifically tailored for each child's needs. You will be expected to use a diverse set of strategies and methods to deliver individualized lessons and support to children with learning problems.

Job Scope

As an Academic Support Teacher, your day-to-day duties will include the following:

  • Conducting assessments to determine student levels.
  • Creating Individual Education Plans (IEP) to match students' abilities and learning styles.
  • Guiding children through academic activities that help them overcome their specific academic struggles.
  • Consulting with parents and teachers to recommend at-home strategies for academic skills improvement.
  • Organizing and conducting small seminars/workshops for parents/teachers.
  • This is a full-time position. Working days are Monday to Saturday.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Education.
  • Teaching experience related to working with children. Experience working with children with special-needs is not a pre-requisite, but is definitely an asset.
  • The Centre is open six days a week.
  • Day-to-day duties will include assessments, programme planning, implementation of treatment and provision of management plans for clients.
  • Weekly progress reports must be submitted to the Centre's Director for close supervision to ensure smooth progress of each child, and for quality control to be maintained within the Centre.
  • Weekly case reviews/team meetings will be conducted. We are seeking a team player with the ability to work independently and be resourceful.
  • The successful applicants will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to articulately and consistently pass good judgment and decision making. Good interpersonal skills, dynamic intelligence, and EQ as opposed to plain IQ are considered great assets.
